Minato Odori Park

Located in front of Kagoshima City Hall, Minato Odori Park is a serene green space stretching towards the waterfront. Its well-maintained lawns, stone monuments, and fountains offer a peaceful retreat in the city center. The park is especially enchanting during winter, when over 50 zelkova trees are adorned with approximately 120,000 lights, creating a magical illuminated scene. This annual illumination event, held from early December to late January, features synchronized light displays at 7:00 PM, 8:00 PM, and 9:00 PM, with a special midnight display on New Year’s Day.
