Mitarashi Falls is a charming 4‑meter cascade flowing over moss‑covered rocks just steps from Kirishima Shrine. Believed to be part of the mystical “Seven Wonders,” this small but picturesque waterfall is said to bring power—and in May, fish miraculously swim up through the falls. From late spring to summer, you can enjoy the unique experience of sōmen-nagashi: catching chilled somen noodles as they float down channels beside the waterfall, available from a seasonal stall. With lush surroundings, striking wooden shrine gates, and peaceful pathways, the spot affords both spiritual ambiance and refreshing relaxation.
